ONS 2026: new representation agreements, and record interest in Africa

We spent last week at ONS in Stavanger. Three things came out of it that are worth reporting to our clients and partners.

New representation agreements

Saga secured a number of new agreements to represent Norwegian technology and service companies in Africa. The pipeline we described earlier this year is converting. We will introduce each new principal properly, in the relevant markets, over the coming months — until then we keep the names off the website, as is our practice.

Concrete cases with trusted operators

Between the stands and the side meetings, we sat down with operators we have worked with for years and discussed a number of concrete cases — named wells, named fields, named timelines. Several of these now move to technical screening. That is how our work starts: a specific asset, a specific problem, a written answer within ten working days.

Africa has never drawn more interest

The clearest signal of the week: we have never fielded more questions about Africa. Brownfield revaluation, gas monetisation, and the technology gap on mature African assets came up in meeting after meeting — from operator technical teams, from ministry delegations, and from Norwegian suppliers who until now have watched the continent from a distance. The conversation has shifted from "why Africa?" to "which country first?". That is exactly the question our country-by-country coverage is built to answer.
